Estrategias de manejo indígena del agroecosistema en Talamanca, Costa Rica
Abstract
Yhis work presents a review of the biodiversity of a tropical sumid agroecosystem in Costa Rica. People from Talamanca have developed a very deep knowledge of the tropical forest dynamic architecture and secure their food supply. This native strategy is based on a multiple management of the ageo.ecosystem. When different farming sectors are involved, they are characterized by a high complexity and interaction between biotic, not-biotic and socio cultural elements. However, the fast economic growth and the indifenous population concentration are making a strong pressure over the agro-ecosystem.
