This paper presents a revision of the integrality concept and its use to address forest management plans in Mexico since 1986. We analyze the theoretical and fication of tropical forest ecosystem. The ejido of Xkan-ha located in Campeche, México, is taken as a case study. The Ejido has a forest permanent economic base and as obtained forest-use permits since 1930. The research focuses in how peasants apply in a pragmatic way the integrality ceoncept through management practices, incorporating species and creating diversification units. In order to learn about integrality and etnobothanical local practices, we carried out surveys and field visits. Furthermore, identification and evaluation of soil use tendencies and changes were done. Finally, we propose a comprehensive action plan to archieve an integral use of resources and units of production at the Xkan-ha Ejido.
