Abstract

This study is an exhaustive analysis of the scientific and technical aspects of the pathologies: acute periodontitis, megaoesophagus/esophagitis, vesicular stomatitis, bovine viral diarrhea, ruminal acidosis, ketosis, traumatic reticulo-peritonitis/traumatic pericarditis and displaced abomasum in domestic ruminants. Where the clinical manifestations, signs and symptoms, the etiology and epidemiology in pathogenesis, and the differential, presumptively and definitive diagnosis, are essential components in medical-surgical treatment and prophylaxis. This review emphasizes the pathologies that are most frequently detected in the Mexican agricultural environment, and those that, due to their importance, are mandatory reporting. Therefore, the revised information is intended to further the knowledge to maintain the herd free of various digestive diseases, but also, in the event of an outbreak, also expose measures are taken to prevent its spread.
