Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the especial contribution made by the voluntary regulations application, since the Social Responsibility guidelines appearance, in connection with biodiversity protection in Argentina. At the same time, we aim to state relevant issues in the way that this voluntary regulation might collaborate to complement these “legal lagoons”. From a methodological point of view, we used the direct observation and analytical methods, and the qualitative data collected was secondary. We can conclude that the main contribution of this paper might be to promote the continuous education of citizenship about sustainability, the environmental and biodiversity protection. We used an interdisciplinary approach as we analyzed three important tools: Social Responsibility guidelines ISO 26.000, international instruments and local Environmental Law regulations, which aim to protect biodiversity and the whole environment.
