Visión general de la producción y aplicación de bioplaguicidas en México

Abstract

Abstract. In this work we present a general and current view on biopesticides in Mexico, essentially focusing on aspects regarding their relevance as one of the ecological alternatives to the use of chemical pesticides, dealing with the existing production plants and analyzing the reproduced or imported biological control agents. Likewise, we assess their widely extended applications in the field performed in the years 2008-2009, taking into account the advantages and limitations for the development of biopesticides and the proposed lines of action to strengthen their development. The scope of this article represents an effort to integrate the limited information available on the biopesticides sector, which is an economic activity whose development should be one of the national priorities.
