Uso del salvado de sorgo en alimentación en ganado lechero

Abstract. Three sources of energy in the concentrate of dairy cattlewere evaluated: sorghum bran, sorghum grain and corn bran (63%), using 12 lactating Holstein cows in a Latin Square 3 x 3, with three periods of 20 days. It was evaluated in vitro digestibility of the rations and the kinetic of dry matter disappearance of the three energetic ingredients. No differences were found in the milk production with sorghum grain (17.18 kg/d), sorghum bran (18.09 kg/d) or corn bran (17.46 kg/d) in the concentrate. The in vitro digestibility ofthe rations was not different among rations, neither the rates of dry matter degradation of the feeds evaluated. The results showed that the sorghum bran can replace the sorghum grain in the concentrated for dairy cattle without affecting the milk production and that have a similar digestibility to the sorghum grain and to the corn bran.
