Los Sistemas Acuícolas de Recirculación: ¿una alternativa para el cultivo sustentable de peces ornamentales en el Estado de Morelos?
Abstract
Abstract. The viability of implementation of the recirculating aquaculture systems was analyzed in the ornamental fish culture of the State of Morelos, México. The State of Morelos is considered the main ornamental fish producer in our country, however, it operates under unsustainable conditions, generating biological, ecological and socio-economic problems (inadequate use of water, lack of control in breeding conditions, poor fish quality, etc.), which limit their growth. A solving alternative to some of these problems is the intensive culture systems, which allows efficient water management and maintains production isolated from the environment, among other benefits. However, these systems do not represent a viable alternative to sustainable of the State of Morelos ornamental fish aquaculture process by themselves, assuming to date just a potential impact type.
